Is Ambex Still in Business?

I find all of this VERY interesting - especially since I personally spoke with Don Vining at the SCAA Houston show. Don assured me that he DID NOT take over Ambex, nor does he own it... That does greatly contradict what I have heard from sources close to him and what has been written here in this forum.
Ambex owes me $12,500.00 and from what my attorney has told me, as the "New Owner" of Ambex, that debt now belongs to Don Vining.
Perhaps that is why he told me what he did at SCAA... Perhaps that is why he has NOT returned any of my phone calls or emails...
Quite frankly, it looks like the "New Owner" is following in the foot steps of the previous one! Consider yourselves warned!
On that same note, if you are giving Ambex, Roaster Authority, Don or Terry any of your money, I strongly suggest that you place any and all funds into an escrow account. This will safeguard your hard earned money, until you actually receive the roaster you ordered and if for some reason you do not receive your roaster, as I did not, they can't touch your money. I only wish that someone had given me that advice well over a year ago...

Does anyone know if Terry is still part owner or was he completely bought out?

Don told me that he bought the company from Terry, he never mentioned Terry as being part owner but it could definitely be possible.

My ambex ym10 roaster arrived.I placed this order on 10/28/2010 being told 4-6 wks lead time. Everything aside Don Vining from Roaster Authority is to be trusted to fill the orders that had deposits.Even though I went though Paul Ribich from Roaster Dynamics, because all my roaster needed was the controls, I payed 50% of the balance so Paul could order the parts great guy to work with.

Did Ambex re-disappear??!?!?!!

I finally got my YM-15 (used from a guy in SC) and I need a conversion kit to switch from NG to LPG, but I haven't been able to contact Ambex for over a week. So there it sits...sad and waiting to be roasted on...

That's not good. I heard from Don last week but I have been unable to contact him this week. The last time I spoke with him he was hopeful my roaster would be ready soon, but again, show me the roaster.

So has anyone received a new roaster from Ambex lately? Also, does anyone know if Don is running the company from Clearwater still?

Let me tell you people something that I think everyone in the coffee business should know about ambex inc.
I know somebody that was taken by Terry Davis for over $50,000.00 for a Ym-60. First he ask for the amount of $25,000.00 and some for deposite, then he call and ask for another $26,000.00. This was 7 months ago. Came to find out, he never order the roaster and he is nowhere to be found. Further more, he has about 19 different cases with the authorities of similar complains. It is a shame that somebody in the coffee industry has been able to steal that amount of money. Do not order or deal with AMBEX INC. period.

I'm not sure how he got away with it for so long and it wasn't known in the industry....

I'm not sure what Don's role is in Ambex now, but I have spoken with him and he assures me a roaster is being made; to be fair, Terry said the same thing but I never heard from him again, at least I can get Don on the phone....

Topher said that he was going to see Don and his roaster today, I'd like to hear what he has to say and if Don has his roaster. I don't know topher but it would have to be a grand conspiracy for him and Don to get together on this board to make it seem like Don is filling orders.

Chitoru, did the person you know who lost 25K from Terry take any legal action? I'm wondering if anyone is able to take legal action against him?
