Hi there

This is my first post : )

While we were in Vietnam my girlfriend and I fell in love with iced Vietnamese coffee (cafe da sua). We were wondering whether it's possible to buy bottled or canned Vietnamese iced coffee? We love it and would like to bring some back to New Zealand next time we visit Vietnam. We wouldn't be able to refrigerate it so it would need to be shelf stable.... Does this even exist there? We have some Trung Nguyên ground coffee with filter cups at home already and can make it ourselves, but we were interested in bottled ready to drink iced coffee... we don't really have that here.

We've heard that bottled or canned coffee is generally not very good. So can I ask, does anyone ever drink it? Can you recommend any good brands of bottled or canned Vietnamese iced coffee?

Thanks guys!

Hello "JazzyJess"

Welcome to the Coffee Forums.

The reason you fell in love with iced Vietnamese coffee is that it was made fresh, and you were not drinking a pre-made beverage. Otherwise, you wouldn't have liked it very much at all.

Iced Coffee in bottles or cans is never good. Your best option is to make it yourself.

Hi Rose

We absolutely agree that fresh is always best!! And for the most part any pre-made beverage (especially coffee) will fall very short. But we were wondering if there were any exceptions to the rule.

There's a shelf stable Vietnamese pre-made coffee (in Houston?) which might be good. We were just hoping there might be something similar in Vietnam....

Why not buy one of those little single cup drip-o-later do hickeys they use to make it? According to youtube they drip the coffee onto condensed milk stir it up and dump it into a glass full of ice.

Trung Nguyen is famous brand in Vietnam and in some countries. You may like their new product "Trung Nguyen fresh bottled coffee". Just add some ice and milk and you will have "Ca phe sua da"
