Replacement connector bolt - French Press

I've lost the connector bolt that fastens the plunger rod to the screen on my french press (went down the sink drain when washing!).

I contacted the manufacturer (Coffee Gator) about getting a replacement bolt, and all they had to offer was an entirely new french press!

Does anyone know how to go about finding a replacement for this small and simple bolt? It's such a waste to trash the entire coffee press over this.

I haven't yet, and it wasn't the first thing to occur to me since the fastener isn't the kind you encounter everyday. But I may be pleasantly surprised. I'll take a look. Thanks for the suggestion.
