Payment: Farmers & Roasters (Direct Trade)

Hello,

Im currently building our plan on visiting few farmers of GCB in South America to establish a good relationship and trying to pick up specialty.

My question is, Once we negotiate the price per pound with our farmers: How are payments made ?

Totally understood and I need to learn some basics of cupping or maybe take with me an expert on cupping on my trip and to make sure the cupping results aggreement are the same as for exporting in order to get that great consistent quality.

Great info, I will look into the most well known exporters available. I will be sending some emails to various Roasters in the US who have done direct trade for that country and hopes to get few reccommended names on the exporter. Its a huge process from the farmer to the roaster to the client, but Im willing to move foward and learn as we go.
