Does anyone have experience with https://bescaroasting.com/ ? I have a friend that got a quote on a 5 kilo. The manual 5 kilo is $20,000 but $27,000 for semi auto. Is it me or does that sound a bit expensive...and yes I said FIVE KILO. Would love to hear from anyone who has used or know anything about them.

Topher - that does sound a bit expensive - I somewhat compare them with Mill City Roasters. Granted we are dealing with Turkish vs. Chinese but we are still dealing with an imported model. Looking at MCR's their 3K runs $13K / 6K runs $20K - what's different about them is they can roast at full capacity. MCR has also built what appears to be an excellent sales/support team. Regarding automation - I know my USRC was $5-6K 3 years ago so the uplift for automation doesn't sound crazy.

Sigh. I paid $4500 for a brand new 5 kilo Ambex. I believe we got the first one they sold. Granted it was almost 25 years ago. I do love my Ambex. I have had my 60 since 2002 and haven't had any real issues. Ambex 5 kilo goes for $11k now.

And then you have the other extreme of the Loring Nighthawk 7k clocking in near $50K
