Bbq > sf6

I bought Adobe CS3 years ago used on Craigslist. Genuine Copy, not registered. Paid a bunch even then! Feel your pain!
I am using kraft/poly lined bags with stamped logo on front, label on back. Also using the kraft label to seal bag.

Hi Poison,

It looks like this thread wandered off in a totally different direction.

I was going to try to move your ad-campaign post to another location, but I was afraid of losing it.

I think it's something that our other members would like to see, but it's hidden within this Bbq > sf6 thread. If you want, you can post it again in its own thread (perhaps in the Business to Business area?)

Rose

Oh wow, that's nice of you! I'll go ahead and post something there.

I hate Adobe, anything they do kills CPU speed, it's weird. I only have an Android Transformer tablet with a keyboard dock as my personal computer, so I'll have to get something compatible with Mac, which my wife has.

As far as bags, I'm considering switching from glassine-lined kraft to the more robust barrier pouch bags, complete with ziplock and one way valve. They're about double the cost, but it might be worth it.

i'm really excited to hear your recaction to getting it...keep us posted!!
i'm making my first public outing with my sf6 this saturday for a local city gathering. working with an amish wheel maker to build a cart for it too. pretty cool stuff.

Oh man, gotta have pics of that! Is it SF's farmers market setup?

nope, doing it homestyle. but definately got the idea from sf. through a college friend connection, i got hooked up with an amish place in lancaster county, penn, called "Nolt's Wheel Shop", and they are building the wheels now. my brother is helping me with the design, making some better drawings for me. he is a finish carpenter down in santa barbara working on some crazy high end places (right now he is heading up the crew doing the exterior finish work on a new house for george lucas. yea, i think that's pretty sweet). being that i'm a carpenter too, i'll be building it out of wood. here's my sketch of the basic idea i want that i sent to my bro.

poison...your roaster looks unbelievable. love the color scheme. perfect. my roaster was built in '04, and i must say i prefer the simpler look to the font on mine. the new style is a little busy, imo. here's my current set up in the garage.

I roasted my first batch yesterday!

I cupped it today, and it was excellent, and that's without actually even figuring out how to play all the variables of this machine to maximum effect!

couldn't wait to hear about your first roasts! what are you roasting? what i'd give to talk profiles with you after you put in a little time with your sf6...(i'm working with an hht guat, a washed rwandan, a waterprocessed decaf columbian, and natural sidamo 4 ethiopian + a brazill for espresso)

Haha, no problem. I roasted 1 batch, Guatemala El Carmen. I was so excited I forgot to hit the timer, so I guesstimated. Dropped 3lbs at 270 with no airflow, gas at 3, open air intermittently after 2:00-3:00, first crack at 9:30-10 (I think), lower gas to 1-1.5, open air all the way, and dropped at 413 and 4:00 after the start of 1st crack. I brewed some this morning and it was very good, close to what I'm doing now, definitely cleaner. We'll see over the next couple days.
