I have had my band sealer for 9 years with no issues...well until recently. It has only happened once but since it is my only band sealer I am going to buy another for back up. Has anyone had any experience with this company? Thanks in advance...
I would ask some people I know that are brokers but to be honest...they aren't gonna be truthful to me. I do have a friend who I buy from that might be able to help you out. Do me a favor and pm me your email and I will make the introduction.
Actually I think they are sincere. I saw a post on redit asking the same question...probably the same person. Island brew...what exactly are you looking for? It's a bit of a vague question. We want to help...just need to know what you are looking for.
So I was catching up with an old friend the other day...He mentioned that he is in need of a Director of coffee. If anyone knows of a roaster looking to move up in the coffee industry this is a great opportunity!! If I didn't have my dream job and wasn't living in paradise I would throw my hat...
Looking back to that scary time in coffee....when it jumped a majority of the roasters switched from lb bags to 12 oz. They left the price the same to make up the difference in price. Then when the market came down they left it as is. What happens next time?? Do people start selling 1/2 lbs...
Who is watching the market? I had a buddy try and lock me in back in December. Everyone was worried the price was climbing quickly. A few weeks later and we are $.30 lower. Glad I waited. Anyone have a prediction on when we will see that ever so scary "10" year jump? I was lucky the last...
I have not but love their social media. Their site says they are veteran run owned and operated. They say with every purchase they give back. Not sure to who and how much but from what I hear they are a bunch of good people. If you have had their coffee...what do you think? I need to order...
If you have an extra $15k laying around you could buy this...my buddy has one and he loves it.

Fine dining used to serve espresso with a lemon rind. It was said to take away from bitterness. People would rim their demi. I haven't seen it in a while...maybe because coffee has improved over the years?
Just a heads up. You can not adjust your drum when it is cool. You have to heat it up or you will drive yourself mad because the metal will expand. If you get it hot adjust it and there isn't any rubbing you should be good. If not I would definitely call Diedrich directly.
I am glad to see someone found a use for McD's coffee! Seems they are going to use chaff to make car parts that are lighter and stronger...

I understand what you are saying BIC...I just got a response to my email. Here is what he said.
"Well, perhaps I am wrong about being “alive”, but they need to breath or they get very funky. Just because they are at 11% moisture vs 22% does not necessarily mean they are dead, they just cant...
So what he said was that coffee is sensitive to moisture and require storage that allows circulation. If the coffee is packed too tightly condensation will build up within the container and cause them to deteriorate and rot..at this stage in the process the beans are basically alive so they...
There was a company in Costa Rica (the coffee source) back in 95 that vacuumed packed their coffee and put them in boxes. The selling point was storage. Boxes stacked great. I still talk to that rep who opened a brokerage a couple years later. He told me years later that in theory it was a...
I was going to respond this morning but had to start production. This time of year I am not able to hit the forums as much as the rest of the year. This season started earlier and has been incredible so far! Well hope you stick around and enjoy all the knowledge that is here for the taking ;)
I dont see how the pods will fit in the clip. Clip seems a little bit small. I would approach Black Rifle coffee. If you branded it for them...you would make a killing.
I drink coffee for free due to my job. If I was to spend money on coffee I would be over $5k a year. Thats being conservative. I have cut back my consumption to about six 16 oz cups a day black coffee a day. That works out to just under $15 a day. I am so glad I get free coffee.
JackBrandy...not sure if you found it but they are asking $8,750. That being said if it is not beat up too bad it is a good price. I would suggest posting some pictures. Does it have an external chaff collector or a firebox?
CaffeineConnoisseur - I will start off that your video was good.... If you go back to Honey's you might want to suggest they start timing their shots. That coffee looked like it was brewed as auto drip. No crema and super watery. Not making fun...just a friendly suggestion.
I believe they are looking for distributors in other areas...I love my Turkish roaster. I have had it for 18 years and love it. I have had 8 in my career so far.
I added a full liquor bar to a cafe I roasted for years ago. Granted it was in a casino but it still worked out great. We were doing between 4 and 5 k when I left. Our record day in that coffee shop was $15k! You couldn't get a rum and coke...it had to be all coffee based drinks. I was...
Welcome! So you are a coffee fanatic..are you a fan as a consumer or are you in the business as well. I truly love coffee as well...I have been in the business since 89 and have been roasting for about the last 25 years or so. Again...welcome and hope you enjoy this forum as much as I do.
Welcome to my world. Been in the business for 30 years now and I can't remember a time when both men and women would joke with me(like it was the first time I heard it). Men always say, "I hope you don't think its weird but you smell REALLY GOOD!" Women say, " OMG you would be in trouble...
I have had loads of coffee from carts and never really a bad experience. I've also seen carts that have seating. Where is that coffee shop that you would rather associate? I did notice that they don't have any customers hanging out. I personally do not hang out in coffee shops and to be...
Anyone using Wilbur Curtis coffee brewers? My rep just popped by the roastery and told me that they had been bought buy SEB. SEB owns WMF and Schaerer. He said that not much will change except they will be adding to their products. I am worried they will start only producing bean to cup...
Sigh. I paid $4500 for a brand new 5 kilo Ambex. I believe we got the first one they sold. Granted it was almost 25 years ago. I do love my Ambex. I have had my 60 since 2002 and haven't had any real issues. Ambex 5 kilo goes for $11k now.
Does anyone have experience with https://bescaroasting.com/ ? I have a friend that got a quote on a 5 kilo. The manual 5 kilo is $20,000 but $27,000 for semi auto. Is it me or does that sound a bit expensive...and yes I said FIVE KILO. Would love to hear from anyone who has used or know...
Welcome to the wonderful world of coffee! Where are you located? You said the exhaust is being cleaned tomorrow....by whom? If you have someone coming out..watch them. It is not a fun job but pretty simple. You can save some money doing it yourself.
Propylene Glycol and caffeine. We have "non flavored" as well as flavor. Doesn't really affect the flavor. We sell most of our jacked up javas as flavor. Cupcake, Chocolate peanut butter and cinnamon.
Ha! I feel you BIC! I have a stove top espresso maker that has a portafilter. The first time I used it no issue. Then we had some drinks and attempted to make more...I accidentally took the portafilter out before releasing the pressure..BOOOM! Espresso spread out in a 360 degree splatter...
So do you put the powder in the brewed coffee? I was playing around with CBD for a bit in coffee. What I found was the CBD will stick to the coffee but will not let go. What little does leave the bean in the water gets caught in the filter. I spoke to people who sell it and they said they...
Sadly it is only available in their tasting room in Delray Beach. It is an LTO unless it blows up. Will keep you posted. We had a blast at the release last night!
Had some fun this week. We did a collaboration with Saltwater brewery and 5150 chocolate. I supplied the dark roast dark chocolate coffee and I must say it is super tasty(taste like cocoa puffs and coffee)! It is always great working with people that are equally passionate in what they do!
