Well no, 'my' Popeye was not so mean. He became more gentle with the years or what?

As I watched the cartoon, I also noticed that there was a lot of "violence" back then, (1930's) and I remembered it being less and less as the years went on. Maybe they toned things down when when Popeye and Olive Oil adopted Sweet Pee?

Anway, it was fun to watch the cartoon. Now, I'm catching myself humming the "Popeye Song" from time to time.
