Actually tesing out some Hualalai Estate Peaberry Medium Dark Roast from my website.. not bad! Quite a caffine kick and a little chocolaty - has a sweet finish.

Today I was experimenting with an african blend comprised of medium roasted ethiopian yergacheffe and a dry processed sidamo roasted a bit darker to second crack.

Then I switched to a blend of yerg and sumatra.

This morning, it's a Honduras Organic from Beneficio Sant Rosa, roasted to a robust, full-city. I've had 2 cups. There's a good chance that a french press is in my future, later this morning.

I'm all over the Sumatra Dolok Sangul I picked up at the 'shrub recently. It's really, really good, with surprisingly clean acidity in large amounts at the city roast. It roasts really oddly, color-wise, as well, making it 'interesting'.

Sorry for the viral post but I love this kind of thing, It always leads to great discussion:What coffee are you drinking right now?I'm currently drinking:ANSWER:HARVEY NICHOLS COFFEE - HARVEY NICHOLS BLEND MEDIUM ROAST WHOLE BEAN.Wonderful taste, It is at chocolatey stage I believe. It's round, smooth and full bodied with a silky texture. Kind of like a Dutch style chocolate, a bit more potent and rich. Lacks any bitter or sour flavour which is absolutely spot on for me.
I am drinking coffee I get send from Cambodia called Mondulkiri. Absolutrley delicious!

Curious what Hualalai Estate coffee you are testing as the name is used on several coffees. I worked on a farm that manages a Hualalai Estate label. I packaged their coffee.
Interesting. Small world.

I'd love to know more.

I experimented with brewing through our new (used) fetco drip machine today. Using approximately 105 grams of coffee/1/2 gal. ground to medium drip w/ four minute brew time and 10% pre-wet @ 205* produced a brew that was too strong for my taste. (Made a batch of yerg, guat and sidamo.)

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Scott

The wife just brought home a cup of Starbucks decaf and its pretty bad when compared to our organic decaf from Honduras. The Starbucks offering is just plain bitter.
