I would suggest getting one with a thermometer in the lid. The one I purchased has 195-205 marked in red so it's easy to see when it's ready. This is the one I have and it works great.
If you are fresh in coffee, but a gooseneck kettle will help you control the water flow easier, a built-in thermometer will also help read the perfect temp for brewing. Whistled Gooseneck kettle will let you won't forget the kettle is boiling water all the time.
I'm quite new to making pourovers, and found that using a regular tea kettle just doesn't give me the control I want and need, but don't want a second electric kettle, so am seeking a gooseneck pouring kettle that i can add boiling water to.
