Hi all. My name is Alex, and I live in Colorado. I really love coffee (obviously), and I also love tea and people. I have read a large number of topics on this site and find everything to be very helpful and informative. Thank you all for contributing so wisely and transparently within this community.

A bit about why I joined:

I am seriously considering opening up my own coffee emporium in the near future, at most two years and at least nine months from now. My motto for the emporium is this: people first, product a close and linked second, and passion as the driving force. My dream is to operate this shop in a way that serves the equity of all who are involved in this business: producers, customers, baristas, barbacks, managers, suppliers, and of course, myself. I will not tolerate anything but the finest service, the highest and most consistent quality coffee, the best tea, and the most delicious food, ALL of which have been produced and even consumed in a just and sustainable manner. If you are reading this, I'd love to hear your experiences and insight as to how you might have or may achieve these goals. I will post more specific things in other forums, and until then I wish you all happy and energetic drinking.

Hello "chadao" (Alex)

Welcome to the Coffee Forums website!

It's rare to read that a person loves coffee and tea. Which do you like better?

Opening your own coffee emporium is a huge endeavor. You've come to the right place to get lots of information from our very experienced forum members.

You have an interesting motto. I'm looking forward to seeing what folks think about it. (people, product, passon? or passion, product, people? or product, people, passion?)

Hi Rose, thanks for your welcoming words! To be honest, I prefer tea over coffee for many reasons. I like the wide variety of tastes, cultures, studies, and innovations. That said coffee has similar attributes, so it is a close second.
