Anyone tried making their own chocolate covered coffee beans?

Just a guess, but after the coffee beans are covered in chocolate they are probably sprayed with shellac rather than lacquer...
 
If they spray with shellac, they would not be edible. You only spray a food item with shellac when for example: a culinary competition where items are on display to "look good" and really are not going to be consumed.
 
Molds work great! I have a Han Solo in carbonite mold I use that that is fun to use. Call them carbonite crunch :D
