Sorry to rain on your parade..I roast for a bagel chain. Most of our stores go through about 2,000 coffee cubes a day(that equals about 75 lbs). We use them for our iced coffee...they call it a "Cubsta" It's pretty labor intensive making all of those cubes though!

I think you are correct. Looks like a #1. It looks a little rough...but you could probably clean it up pretty easily. Seems like it's all there..needs a belt. The big questions is...does the motor run.
I just watched abc news and they had a segment on caffeine content. They said out of Starbucks, Dunkin and McDonald's that Starbucks coffee had the most caffeine. I do not think that the caffeine content makes it a better product. With them saying this people will gravitate to them. Coffee...
I am wondering if anyone knows of a company that can produce large quantities of coffee concentrate. I have searched and searched and can not find anyone who can do mass quantities. Thanks in advance!
Labels can look nice. The company I work for is HUGE on branding....here is our retail bags. The last company I worked for had bags pre-printed in China. We had to keep so much stock it was ridiculous! Good luck and let us see what you come up with.
A friend of mine sent me a link about this new coffee. I watched a video from GMA about it as well. They are selling this "high octane" coffee. On the video they were all drinking it and saying that they could feel the caffeine and that the coffee was tasty and smooth. The owner in one...
The roastery is located next to our first bagel store. I store bags there and in the roastery. The roaster is not automated and is an Ambex. The afterburner sits directly behind the roaster and we have dunnage racks spread out to store green. We package what we roast and ship within 24 hours...
I was wondering everyone's opinion on this whole Bitter barista debacle. Personally I find humor in what he wrote...we have all thought many of the things he posted. His downfall was not staying anonymous. He didn't try to keep it under raps. Sprudge found out who he was with one google...
Just had someone come in and said they had a "Appliance Science Coffee 1" for sale. I have never heard of it before...He said that they went out of business due to trade mark issues. I searched online for pictures and reviews on the machine...nothing. From what he described it seems pretty...
About to install our new beast! We currently use 1.5 gallon dispensers for out coffees. Problem is that we are blowing through 3 gallons per half hour during our rush. So we invested in this 3 gallon brewer for our rushes...this weekend it will be up and running! Just in time for season!
The time is here once again to offer up an roasting apprenticeship. Barista preferably but no experience needed. The job is full time with great potential for growth. Email your inquiries or resume to [email protected].
I do have a quick question for you...do you do S/S travel mugs? I am looking for one that has a large print area...everyone I have spoken to so far only have small print areas...
crema
Our latest store with our new creamery concept...this cream is not like the coffee mate that is made with hydrogenated oil. The product I make is made with real cream and tastes like melted ice cream....its insane!!
ALUN!!! Glad to see you are still breathing!! I used to have the 120 kilo roaster. I am no longer with that company. I now have a 60 kilo Ambex that I roasted on for 8 years with previous company. It was rebuilt by roasters authority and looks INSANE!!!
ox pm me on what kind of price you...
Phew...finally passed our 30th/final inspection!!! Roastery has been in full production for a week and coffee shop should open in under 2 weeks! I am so stoked!
Was wondering where to get demitasse sticks. I used to sell them and for the life of me can not remember who I got them from. The same company had chocolate covered spoons and such.
Thanks,
Topher
The time has come for me to start looking for some apprentices. I have been lucky in the past and have had great people to train and work with...Brian don't get a big head..but I do miss you ;) ! I am looking for all people who are looking to learn all aspects of the coffee business. From...
I know, I know..it has taken forever to get open..but I see the light at the end of the tunnel. We go for final inspection tomorrow! I will post some pics under this thread later today on the progression. Wish me luck!
I have never had problems with any of the 5 Ambex that I have worked on...but I think that "full" batches do not come out as nicely. 3 to 4 pounds worked for me on my 2 kilo...on the sixty I just had rebuilt for me the sweet spot was 90 lbs. I have also heard from manufactures that you can get...
I want to apologize to anyone who received my training guide and found it to be...how do I put this..incorrect..and in some parts just gibberish. Seems sometime in the last year or maybe even in the past 4 years someone had changed my guide. I am not sure who or when they did this. I haven't...
Well we finally started demolition yesterday. The old walls will be down by end of today and then we can start the build out. We should be open by August 1st(but you all know how that goes!) We have a very small area that we are working with. It is just under 800 sq ft. In this area we are...
Market is at $2.49...a whopping $1.09 more than I was locked in for my Brazil last year... but much better than the + $3!!! Is it dropping for good?? I sure hope so.
Anyone roasted the new swp decaf coffee? It its so much better! Beans use to be so dark before you roasted that it was a pain to watch the bean develope...now its a nice light green and a dream to roast!
So happy right now! Just had my exhaust motor for my sixty kilo rebuilt and fan housing completely striped and cleaned. For the last seven years we have been scraping as much of the build up behind the fan as we could. We couldn't get the fan off. Well no we can and it is a dream to clean!!
Went to a buddies coffee shop today. The guy who he is buying coffee from told him not to ever back flush his espresso machine with chemicals. Has anyone ever heard this before?? So I brought him some cleaner to back flush his machine. I started the process...but it didn't back flush. Put...

My ntew pour over station! I went online to price pour over stations and they were anywhere from $300 and up! I showed my maintenance guy pics of the stations I saw online. He surprised me with this shiny new toy! He said that this one is a bit rough and the next ones he makes you will not...
Ollie from S. Africa. I am not sure if you are on this forum or not but if you are I got your message and will call you from home. I can not make international calls from work. I am pretty sure we can figure out what is going on with your roaster...
So I am sure all you roasters have seen the price on Kenya...HOLY COW!!! It jumped to double the usual price and from what I hear it will not be coming down for a while...also anyone else selling RFA Panamanian? RFA Panama is close to the same price as the Kenya's right now :o
I am gathering drink recipes for an account that is going to be serving our coffee. I need coffee base alcoholic drinks. This is a market that really has not taken off..well not in my area. When I was at the casino we put a full liquor bar in the coffee shop and did coffee based drinks and it...
O.K. So I am back from Anaheim. I found some pretty cool things and I also saw some things I wasn't to sure about. There is a new company that is selling lids for disposable paper cups. These lids have a filter built into them. You use it just like a french press except its disposable. I am...
I had a funny experience today. I went with our sales person on a sales call and met the owner of an Italian restaurant soon to open. He informed me that he was Italian so he really knew coffee. To back up his story he told me that he had served thousands of espressos in New York. He opened...
