Who’s tried Scandinavian egg coffee?

It’s coffee made with an egg mixed into the coffee grounds before they are put into the hot water for steeping. The purpose is to create a cleaner coffee.
 
I'm as Swedish as it get's and I have never heard of this. We have something called "kokkaffe" which is coffee you brew in a frying pan, it's a method that has been around since the 1700s and has made a comeback as a hipster sort of thing, but I've never heard of using egg. Interesting though!
 
I have heard of egg shells but not egg itself. My grandfather used to put egg shells in his grounds..said it made it smoother. If he didn't buy crappy coffee he wouldn't need to used shells for smoother coffee.
