Atlanta, GA (February 19, 2009) – Kaapi Royale will host a tasting event and hospitality suite for coffee industry professionals attending the 2009 Specialty Coffee Association of America exposition in Atlanta, Georgia.
On Friday, April 17 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, coffee cuppers are invited to take the Kaapi Royale Challenge, a test of skill where participants must correctly identify the species of 3 Indian coffee samples as either Arabica or Robusta. Advance registration is not required.
Three winners selected from all correct entries collected will be announced on Saturday, April 18 at the exposition.
Winners will receive invitations to join Kaapi Royale in India for a 4-day guided farm tour of Karnataka’s Chikmagalur coffee growing region during the 2010 harvest season this December. Accommodations, meals and ground transportation between Bangalore and Chikmagalur will be provided.
In addition to the contest, organized cuppings will be led every 2 hours starting at 9:00 AM. Those who wish to learn more about the coffees of India are encouraged to visit at his or her leisure throughout the day.
