Hi everyone!
I have a cheap "default" 15bar espresso machine, and as someone who likes to thinker, I wanna play around with it and try some stuff.
Adding a dimmer to regulate the flow rate and adding manometer seem pretty self explanatory. No issues with that.
But I was thinking about maybe adding a "PID" to it, as temp surfing is required to do anything useful with it.
My question is, would the components from the attached image work? It is just a controllable digital thermostat and a SSR.
From what I gathered, i would basically need to "avoid" built in thermostat and use this instead to control the temp. One issue that I can notice right away is that the probe on the temperature controller looks like it can't be attached to anything. Would just cutting it off and replacing it with a different one work? Is there an alternative cheap controller that I can try to find. Am i missing something?
I don't use milk steamer, so I guess i only need one SSR.
This could be done very cheaply, so i thought it's worth at least asking.
Thank you all for helping, in advance
