I wish i had known about this forum before. Im impressed to see so many other people who love their coffee and enjoy good QUALITY brews. None of that instant crap.
So, every morning i brew a full 12 cup pot of community medium roast morning blend and drink half of it. The other half I take with me to school and drink in my first class. I love my coffee black, and i will never return to sugar and cream. I'm considering starting to buy whole beans and grinding them myself. Any recommendations ? price isnt a huge issue, but under 50$ a half pound would be nice. Thats it for my post guys, thanks for reading.

I suggest that you start a hand grinder. It is cheaper and lower by 50$. It is good only for home use and not for high volume consumers. You just turn on the crank to use it instantly. It has adjustable conical ceramic burrs with dishwasher safe. The volume of the grind beans depends on how fast you turn the crank. Anyway, just try a Hario Coffee Hand Grinder.

Hello "callmecow"

Welcome to the Coffee Forums website.

You have an interesting choice for a user name. Is there a story behind it?

You said price isn't a big issue for whole coffee beans....did you mean to write under $5 a half pound or $50?? There is a huge difference.

I looked up Community coffee from New Orleans charge around 10 dollars per 12 oz bag. Nicely priced.

I would try some of the forum members coffee. Many of them are very good roasters and they will never charge you 50 dollars per 1/2 pound unless you want Blue Mountain Peaberry coffee or Kopi Luwak.

But truly, I would try good single origin coffee from different regions. Try African, South American and Asian coffee. You will be very impressed with different flavor and aroma from different regions.

Have loads of fun trying and finding out different coffee from all over the world. Thats what I do when I want something fun ;)
