Childish outburst. My first bag of greens arrived today! I went to a shipping "terminal" to pick up my Yirgacheffe, which turned out to be a dirt lot behind a McDonalds about a half hour from my house. I loaded it off of a tractor trailer, which saved me 60 bucks over having it shipped to my door. Seemed a bit like a drug deal, though. Now I have to make the drum turn! That is this weekend's project.

Congratulations! You will never forget that dirt lot! Yirg is one of my favorite coffees. It is SHB, and will take a dark roast. But what a waste to over roast this coffee.
I just had some this morning. Great citrus fruit notes , medium body, superb tasting coffee! My son came over right after I Chemex brewed it and said, "dad this coffee tastes awesome", couldn't agree more. So I checked my log notes:

Dumped the beans at 426 degrees(touch 2nd crack and dump quickly ,no more than 12-15 seconds),before the rolling starts.
Many roasters will dump at first noise of 2nd crack, you cannot go wrong.

Wait 48-72 hrs(if you can!) grind, brew, and overly enjoy!

I had forgotten how heavy 132 lbs can be. Good thing I have a furniture dolly at home. My son and I wrestled the bag into a plastic bin (just to sit it in) and onto a rolling dolly and tucked it away in a dry spot in my "office". I am close to making the connection between the repurposed icecream maker motor and the rotisserie shaft. Quite the engineering challenge for various reasons. Hope to have that solved soon. I went with the ink stamp concept for the labels, on the recommendation of Eldub and some others here. Getting close!
