inconsistent paper filters, box to box

Having a terrible time with my paper filters. I am getting inconsistent draw-down, depending on the box of filters I happen to get. One box will be fine, the next will clog.

Same brand, same brewing recipe. Nothing changes in how I grind or brew.

In the past I have used store-branded Kroger white filters, with good luck. Then got a bad batch. Switched to Melitta, same thing, worked well, then got a box that clogged. Exactly same experience with Moccamaster. Went to closest Walmart and got some Melitta brown filters, and they work perfectly!

My roasts are light, and they have chaff. White Melitta, and white Kroger clog, brown Melitta draw down between 1:30 and 1:45.

I understand roasts with more chaff are more likely to clog, but the same roast will draw down with the box of Melitta brown, but not with the box of Melitta white.

Grinder is Virtuoso +, using Clever Dripper brewer. Nothing has changed in my brewing method, just a gamble every time I go to buy filters.

Anyone have experience with this? At my wits end, never know what I will get when buying filters.

Thanks for any advice!
