BTW, apparently, you are from Australia, I presume. can you tell us something about Australia coffee culture? perhaps not the Illy coffee culture, but general specialty coffee culture? that would be a lot more interesting than illy history lesson.

Illy coffee is like any other well known (mostly among public, not really for coffee lovers & specialists) brands in the world. Like Starbucks, Folgers, UCC...etc
Actually illy was the very first Italian coffee that went world-wide.
however, if you really want to have a great cup of coffee, please stay away from illy. Any fresh roasted bean from local roasters should be better than illy.

However, I only tried illy coffee from super market or instant iced coffee...etc. Never been to the real illy coffee shops in Italy to try out some of their best coffees.
So, if any of forum members had tried "real illy coffee" from illy cafe in Italy , I will appreciate some comments. that would be interesting.

yes, i also agree. Illy is way too much commercialized, in my opinion.
