How to store Coffee to extend its shelf life?

The best advice is to buy only what you'll use in 2 weeks.

Double-bagging and freezing works well too, but only for long-term storage; IOW, take out what you want to use for the duration of the batch and leave it out; don't take it out and put it back in day after day. Let it come up to room temp before opening the bag.

I am still reminded of my youth when my mother would pull out a bag of coffee beans from the freezer, ground up then brew. I can't attest how "fresh" this tasted but I also cannot image it being very palette pleasing.
