I recently got my hands on some fresh rose geranium leaves, and I’d love to make a simple syrup with them.

I’ve seen recipes for floral syrups like lavender and rose, but I’m curious about the best method for extracting the flavor from rose geranium.

Should I steep the leaves hot or cold?

Also, what are your favorite ways to use this syrup—cocktails, desserts, or something else?

Any tips to enhance the flavor or extend shelf life?
