Guys, I'm really trying here. I want to drink iced coffee at the many local quaint coffee shops in my neighborhood, and I want to make it at home with my french press... But there is something missing everywhere but Starbucks, and I can't figure out what it is!
There is something about the flavor of a Starbucks Iced Coffee (I get it sweetened with a little bit of 2% so it's light brown) that I can't get anywhere else. In fact, at most other places I find Iced Coffee to be quite distasteful once I add liquid sweetener.
I thought it might be something special in Starbucks "Classic Syrup" (Simple liquid sweetener) so I bought a bottle of it from Starbucks and poured it in an iced coffee I got from a local coffee shop - still unpleasant.
What else could it be? Am I crazy?
