Hi All,
I am new in this coffee business and, of course, this forum. I am now In New York City and I have a full time job (I am a CPA). I have a friend working for a non-for-profit now based in Ethiopia. We are looking into the coffee bean business and would like to know more from your guys. We have communicated with a local Ethiopia Eco-friend processing exporter of green coffee beans. We can supply 20/40 container of sun dried (Grade 3, 4 and 5) and washed coffee beans (Grade 1 and 2). We are still at the exploration stage and would like to know whether you guys think there is a market in the US for Ethiopia coffee. I heard the freight cost would be significant (it can be the stopper).
What do you think is a best business model (i.e. create a brand or simply export from Ethiopia and bring the beans in the US and further distribute)?
Thanks, looking forward to discussing more.
Larry
