I am looking to buy an espresso machine for home use. I'd like something that is automatic, easy to clean, reliable, and somewhat quiet.

This is going to be my 'big spoil' after going through a long and grueling divorce. I'm willing to pay between $1000-2500 CAN dollars. What machine would you coffee experts recommend?

Thanks.

Nice budget... when you say automatic do you want something that is fully automatic in that you dump beans in the hopper, fill the water reservoir, turn it on, push a button or two, etc... and let it do all the work?

Yes, I'd like the machine to do it all for me, although I don't mind steaming the milk.

This is my top budget. I just want a machine that will last a lifetime. My machine certainly will not be used hard, one cup per day.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Hello ShelleyBC,

Welcome to the Coffee Forums.

You say you're looking for a machine that will last a lifetime. Did you really mean to say that you wanted one that will last a long time?

Take a look at this video. It has a lot of information about super automatic espresso machines.

You may want to take a look at this one too. They explain several kinds of espresso machines.

there are tons of machines out there you can choose from. I think it will be your personal choice to find the one you love.... You can buy one from around 400 and up. There are tons of more youtube videos on Espresso Machines. You should see them and compare....
