Like New HR-1. The dimensions of the Diedrich Home Roaster take into consideration the low height and space requirements needed to fit under the average U.S. kitchen cabinet, small cafe's, kiosks, coffee labs, or small training facilities.

We designed the Diedrich HR-1 one pound (.454 grams) Home Roaster for the passionate home connoisseur and as an alternative to the traditional "barrel roasters" for green coffee importers to evaluate small batch samples (while still using all 3 - time, heat and air combinations) to enhance their need for purchasing decisions. The HR-1 is a 100% electric roaster and therefore roast profiles are different than with larger gas fired roasters.
We acknowledge the fact that there are many choices for low price = low quality home roasters, as the same exists in our professional and commercial roasting equipment segments. The desire to minimize the investment in both professional and consumer sized roasters results in low cost/low quality and inheriting a short equipment life-span. Most importantly this sacrifices the performance and flexibility needed for roasting with the unique style required for fine Arabica coffees.
An efficient coffee roaster provides the RoastMaster with the ability to adjust the time of roast, degree of roast, allow change in heat mediums (convective, conductive, and radiant heat), and the ability to speed up or slow down temperature ramp rates. Other roasters on the market do not provide the ability for all three. Most low-cost/low-performance roasters use a “one roast profile for all coffees” mentality. All Diedrich roasters provide you with the ability to adjust the three heat mediums, as well as air flow velocity. A roaster that provides for fine adjustment ability and allows you to customize your roast comes from our quality materials and our engineered design for managing heat.

Diedrich Manufacturing, Inc. custom manufactures its coffee roasters 100% in the U.S.A. Long-term, the best value is investing in a roaster that will provide you with years of custom roasting, while maintaining an extended market value should you ever want to move up in size to the next step. The HR-1 is built to the same materials, quality standards and engineering design as our IR Series roasters... durable and built to last over consecutive hours of use. In many foreign countries, the HR-1 is used in cafe's for small batch production. Globally, it is also used in coffee labs and for educational purposes.

Roaster is located in the Minneapolis area. I have the original wood crate for easy shipping. I will guess that $80.00 to $100.00 would get this delivered anywhere in the lower 48.
