I have just picked up a Delonghi Magnifica Evo (ECAM29031SB) to replace a well utilised Magnifica S that had reached the end of its service life.
After approximately 90 seconds from the time the steam knob is turned on, the steam light starts flashing quickly and then the steam cuts off. It is possible to get the steam going again, but you have to turn the steam tap off, wait for the lights to flash 2-3 times, press the steam button again, wait for it to be ready then turn the steam knob back on.
Presumably this is some type of ill conceived safety feature. This is a pain, as I need an additional 30 seconds to get the milk just right. The previous Magnifica S would cut off after about 3 minutes, providing ample time to get enough milk for 2 lattes hot and ready.
Does anyone know if there is a way to bypass this limitation, or to otherwise extend the time it will steam for before cutting off?
