Hello all,
My name is Ryan and I work for a manufacturing company in San Diego. Currently im working on implementing a coffee machine for our employee break room. We have right around 120-150 employee’s and I’d say we average around 80-100 cups in a given day. Currently we have the normal basic Bunn coffee machine with 2 hot plates. Now to what I’m looking to go to; something that’s a lot more automated maybe a bean to cup system, or maybe paying for a service where a company will come in and fil the machine for us. I’m mainly looking for a auto brew feature that’s hands free and people don’t have to worry about refilling the beans / brew basket.
Now I have done some searching and came across a company called Lavazza and Cuda coffee. What would you guys recommend for my usage? I appreciate all the help in advance.

Thanks,
Ryan

That sort of service would have to supported by a local company. I would recommend finding one, calling them, and if you like that you hear, ask them if they have that service installed locally and go and check it out - taste the coffee and see if it .. uhh.. is coffee...? ;-) Talk to the folks using it at that other installation and see what they think.

Randy,
Thanks for the quick reply, what sort of thing should i look for in the service? Also is there is specific name for this coffee service?

Written contract stating frequency of service and response time if there is a problem. Details of what service includes and what it does not include, etc. A genreral feel of how they handle the phone call as well. Penalties (if any) for cancelling, how long of a notification of cancelling do you need to give, contract length. Of course, you really need to sample the coffee, or have a 30 or 60 day trial period with no penalty since it is not just you drinking it. Look in the phone book for coffee, commercial services, commercial food service, coffee roasters, etc. You should be able to turn something up. If you have contacts with other companies, ask them what (if anything) they are using.

V...... there's a coffee equipment and service provider in SD, across the street as I remember, from the East side of Liberty Station. You may want to call Pasquini Espresso Company on Olympic Blvd., just West of the Harbor Fwy. They are the master distributors for Cimbali super-automatics, as well as other machines. Point is, they may have a machine to fit your needs, and a service center.

The only question I would like to ask you is have you done a cost analysis for the system you have versus the system you want?

A lot of these so called plans where people take care of all your needs will far exceed that of what you are currently paying for coffee production. The thing to do is weigh your current costs of brewing a cup to what their monthly payment plan will be.
