Aroma: Instant versus Coffee beans

Hi there,

I'm not a coffee drinker but I am writing a novel. Just wanted to know what people's perception of the aroma from instant coffee versus premium coffee beans. I assume it is stronger, but just wanted to know if anything else comes to mind.
