I am so excited. I went to visit one of my farmers this weekend and he presented me with an 8 ounce bag of some of his "Vintage" coffee. For those of you that have never heard of it, aged coffee is a fabulous (yes expensive) treat.
These beans from the Ka'u region, have been held green for 7 years before they are taken to be milled and roasted. While I haven't tried them yet (need to take photo's for the site), I am looking forward to try it.
The roaster let us know that the coffee has lots of body and chocolate overtones. I will let every one know when we have it for sale. We are still figuring out pricing but I am thinking between $35 - $40 a pound.
