After you finish drinking espresso, do you put some liquid in the cup, then rinse and drink it in order to not waste any?
I do, since the residue probably contains 10-20 milligrams of caffeine, and espresso is fairly expensive.
What amount of grounds (in teaspoons or tablespoons) are used per shot of espresso?
I currently make a cup of coffee individually from 4 tablespoons of grounds, and find that a triple espresso has about the same or slightly more effect than one of theses cups, so I want to see how much grounds...
I just tried this today and thought it was pretty good:
Make a cup of coffee with 4 tablespoons of French roast coffee grounds
Melt 2 1oz. squares of unsweetened chocolate in a small amount of water on a stove, then mix it into the coffee
Add 3 tablespoons sugar
Many coffee shops let you add shots of espresso to a coffee beverage you order for 50¢ each. If you ordered a coffee drink and wanted some espresso separately, would they charge the same price, or would they charge for the espresso as if you were buying it by itself($1.25 for a single, etc.)?
I don't use other forms of caffeine very much. I don't like their effects as much as coffee, and it seems like if I take them I tend to consume the same amount or only slightly less coffee than I would otherwise, so I get too much caffeine. Occasionally I'll take a small amount of a caffeine...
I like dark roast, darker than the lighter dark roasts but not the darkest such as Italian Roast which has a burnt charcoal taste and seems to have less caffeine.
Caffeine Analogs
Many are stronger then caffeine (1,3-Dipropyl 7-Proparagyl Xanthine is 100 times stronger). Many have stronger effects on A2 then A1 adenosine receptors compared to caffeine. I heard once that antagonizes one of the adenosine receptors caused restlessness and antagonizing the...
Maybe they could also make genetically engineered increased-caffeine coffee? :-D :-D :-D

I sometimes do this to get out of a habit of sleeping in. It keeps better overnight (cold) than you might expect, especially if it's a dark roast.
Somehow the poll didn't get created right (last option omitted), so I'm correcting it. The other thread can be deleted.
..when making manual drip coffee? I've found that the coarser the grind, the more times water should be poured through to optimize taste. When I've gotten extremely finely ground coffee, one time works very well (and in fact doing it more than once clogs the filter). With the drip grind...
The plastic in many cones gets a stale coffee odor that is hard to get rid of. Are there any cones made out of a less odor-absorbing material, such as harder plastic, metal, ceramic or glass?
Also, are there any white coffee filters that don't have a bleach taste?
I only buy espresso there. I used to buy coffee there also but I like the coffee I make at home (using Jim's Oganic Coffee much better.
I would have made this a multiple choice poll, but that isn't an option so instead vote for what you most commonly get.
Theophylline is a caffeine analogue used to treat asthma that is also a stimulant like caffeine. If anyone here has taken it, did it have noticeable stimulant effects? How do the effects compare to caffeine?
