does the package says something about "roasted date"? if it is good brand and coffee, it should say it. as long as you store them in a cool dark place, it should keep the flavor for a month or so. (from the time of roasting)
I'd say Peet's is average to below average coffee quality and sometimes you get beans that are roasted few month ago. Try out Blue bottle, Klatch, Verve type of specialty coffees, buying directly from their website. Of course the cost will be much higher, but it will be fresher & more tasteful.
I travel quite a bit to overseas where any good coffees are available, especially in hotels or Airbnb. I have been buying Waka coffee from Amazon. Is there any decent ones at very reasonable price?
