Different machines perform in different ways.
I went on a Barista course and made perfect microfilm first time (ECM machine) but still can't achieve the same result at home. I 'practice' most days but consistency eludes me!
I've moved on, now, after the pump head failed.
What I was disappointed with most was my ability to create microfoamed milk for Latte art.
And still cannot do so reliably on my subsequent machine.
I think something's blocked in my Rocket espresso machine.
It screeches and dumps water when brewing, so shots are taking longer.
The screech is the same as I get when back-flushing.
De-scaling does not seem to help.
My machine is plumbed-in using filtered water.
No-one in the UK seems...
