When you buy the beans do they have a recommended shot dose, time and temp? Or do you generally play around with it and dial it in?
Just trying to find the most economical way of dial in without wasting beans.

On my Breville 870, even with the finest setting which is 1, I’m still not able to get a consistent pull time.
Currently I’m doing 18g whole beans in and getting 18g out. Then using distribution tool and tamp, I start the shot.

What types of beans do you use for espresso? We usually use the dark roast type, but can you use other blends like light, medium or even those holiday specials beans?
