SC/TO Build Is Off To A Great Start!

Here's an easier mod for the shaft that will not only last for years, but maintain the plumb of the shaft so the arms spin on the same plane as the SC bed. Buy the 1/4-20 hanger bolt and wing nut, cut of the plastic threads and file them down until they're flush with the notch, drill a hole...

Cleaning Jets on a Gas Roaster

I'm the second owner of my Ambex YM-2K, and it's time to do some maintenance on the jets, I believe. The flame out of the jet closest to the front of the drum is weaker than the others. I thought this may be because it's the furthest from where the propane enters the manifold, and may be...

    Venting question

The one pic is of the front clean-out door, just to show what they look like - the one on the back of the cooling tray, where the adapter mounts is the same. The adapter started life as an adapter that would be used in furnace ductwork, and I found it a Home Creepot. Hope that helps!

    Ratio vs water temperature

That's a Bonavita gooseneck kettle. First, I squished the spout with a pliers, but it didn't help much. So I found some wire, about the thickness of a paperclip and cut it 3/4" of an inch, folded it back on itself and slid it on. Works very well. The initial attempt was with a cotter pin on...

What Kind of Coffee Grinders Do you Use?

I like how the OP registered, posted a bunch of useless posts to get his post count up and put his website URL in his sig line, had it edited by Rose with an explanation from her, and now has this, "Advertising URL in Signature Removed by Moderator."

Stopping Extraction with Liquid still in Brew Basket

Ultimately, the proof is in the pudding; try it both ways and see what your palate prefers. I would say you are on to something, and what you're doing sounds very good to me. I always weigh my beans and measure water by volume, but avoid hard and fast rules. The rules come from 'experts' and...

    Greetings from Milwaukee!

Thanks to all who work behind the scenes to provide this great resource to us coffee people. My current brewing method is pourover w/ a Kone and Bonavita kettle, but I go through streaks where I'll use my press pot, and then switch to a Yama 5-cup vacpot. For espresso, I'm using a Vivaldi II...
