Storing Green Coffee Beans Safely This Way OKAY?

for what it's worth, i keep mine in a 7 liter water bottle, (holds 11 kilos). i don't see the need for the green beans to breath. they will probably lose their moisture using your described method. why not invest in a large plastic container with top?

Taking apart a Baby Gaggia, help!

are you talking about the large nut on the bottom of the solenoid valve? i had a problem removing mine. what i did was put the valve body in a vice (gently) and used a pipe wrench (8-10") size and a little wd-40. and with a little effort, it finally broke loose. nut was a little chewed up though.

Buying a used semi-automatic espresso machine - what red flags do I look for?

if it's a rotary style pump, it will have carbon fiber vanes that eventually wear out, and the pump pressure slowly drops. will not damage other components. imo, whatever you get it will probably need to be serviced first thing. a good descaling will be inevitable. i bought a machine that the...

Does Raw Coffee Bean Freshness Matter?

it greatly depends on how the coffee beans were/are stored. green coffee beans should be kept in an airtight container away from heat and light. in those conditions, they should last very long. i get my beans while they are still in the parchment shell, therefore, maintaining more of the...
