    Grind vs Steeping time?

I know the size of the grind determines how long a coffee should steep.. I was wondering, however, if my thought process is right during my brew experimenting. would the taste of the perfect steep time for a finer grind be equivalent to the perfect steep time for a courser grind? Or are their...

Care to share Aeropress filter advice?

thanks, and I will, after I am done experimenting... I tried the standard way if doing a brew ( non inverted ). And I am thinking I am liking the steps better... Just need to tweak my timing and finesse before I make a video ... Still a bit awkward with it :P if you know what I mean LGD

not happy with my roast outcome

Ok, I did a little research, and think I understand your settings and tne machine first those extra numbers dealing with the drum speed and fan speed ( which is rpms ). Seem to be useless... The only thing I would think it could benefit is if it help control the temp, but both of your tests...

Now I am ready for travel! Plus a cool way to store coffee anyway IMO

Well I have my aeropress now and the hario slim grinder... Since I am might not be able to weigh my coffee before each brew.. I thought to use my wife's diamond(r) mini cups to store my coffee for each brew.... Not only does it make it easier... This way I am limiting my coffee beans exposure to...

    Connections to coffee truck owners

I love the idea... my dream, when in the distant future is to have a mobile coffee shop... and love your idea of using it to get the word spread about your roast... which is sort of my thoughts as well. Of course.. I am not really into fancy espresso drinks.. my truck would just serve some...

    Bitter coffee. why?

I have used the behmor for a few years now.. I haven't had issues with the taste, unless I forgot to time it right. I do it manually all of the way through.. I usually use 253g and set my roaster for 1lb/p1. And usually push cool around 17:30 for my Rwanda and a little less for my Kenya... No...

What do you drink your coffee out of?

I have a few favorite mugs that I during out of... As far as how I drink my coffee, I add a touch of milk, just enough to change the color ever so slightly. I found out by accident ( since before, I was black coffee all of the way ) that a touch of milk enhances the flavor of the coffee itself...

Full immersion using a standard coffee machine

Thanks.. I use to use that grind and brew a lot, it's amazing how that little blade grinder made some nicely ground coffee. The only thing I didn't like is the hopper always got moisture after the first brew.. Too much work for me ( or should I say my wife ) to clean. As as far as the method...

Full immersion using a standard coffee machine

I love full immersion, and, besides my french press, I really didn't have something to do this with..... until I get something more proper.. I improvised and did it like this I was wondering if anyone had tried this in the past.. and if you haven't, try it and let me know what you think. if...

What's more important, a good grinder or a good water filter?

my vote would be for old, dead threads :) also, good quality water is the answer to the topic... That would be if I had to choose one over the other...fortunately I don't. LGD

I am waiting on my aeropress in the mail as I type this, I also ordered a filter for it. I have brewed with other methods using paper filters and screen mesh... If it one is better than the other... Well as it has already been stated, it's all about preference.. Also, as it already been stated...

Hi, I am known as Lightgeoduck or LGD in the other forum circuits I frequent, so I guess it only makes sense to be it here :) I have been roasting coffee for a few years now, so maybe I can be officially called a home roaster?? I started out with a stovetop popcorn popper, then quickly moved...
